Each region on different days dress up in lavish masked costumes, parades waltz through the streets celebrating the return of spring. Confetti is thrown everywhere and generally it is a wonderful atmosphere. Austria is a beautiful country with many wonderful cities, and natural beauty spots. It caters for all types of people and is a safe place to visit. It is one of those countries that have everything in whichever season you go in. My personal favorite is winter. The snow delicately caps the hazardous mountain range of the Alps inviting the unsuspecting skier to challenge nature by leaving his mark of victory down the colossal elevation. There are endless ski resorts, most of them have children ski clubs, so, while the kids are having fun meeting other kids, mums and dads can enjoy a day on the slopes hassle free. Ski lessons run all day, but you may choose the hours that best suit you. All instructors speak English and are very helpful. If you have never skied before I would strongly recommend lessons, by the end of the week you will surprise yourself how easy you will be skiing. HeadachesThere are different kinds of headaches caused by many different reasons, but the main ones are tension, migraine, and cluster. Tension - tension headaches generally are all over, and may feel like there is a band around the head. Migraine - throbbing, often one-sided, although in a minority of cases they are on both sides. These headaches are often accompanied by nausea and vomiting, but again in a minority of cases are not. Cluster - occur typically around or behind one eye. NATURAL HELP FOR HEADACHES: Especially for those suffering cluster headaches, if you smoke, stop or cut down drastically on smoking. Men who have cluster headaches are typically smokers. Breathe deeply, from the stomach. Self-massage - massage with your thumbs or knuckles under the boney ridges at the back of the neck. Accupressure - massage the web between the forefinger and the thumb. Wear an eyemask to rest, and dark glasses outside, especially when the sun is bright. Watch eating habits: don't skip meals or delay them greatly. Small snacks instead of or in addition to meals help many people. Try hot or cold relief. Experiment with hot and cold compresses or packs. Cold may be better for migraines and cluster headaches; hot for tension headaches. White willow bark is very helpful for many headaches, but always take something as soon as possible after the headache starts. The longer it goes on, the less something may help. Feverfew is said to relieve migraine pain. (Do not use feverfew if pregnant.) Other herbs which may help migraine are cayenne, chamomile, ginger, peppermint, willow bark and valerian (do not use valerian when using anti-anxiety or anti-depressant medication as it may increase the effects; also with any other sedative herb, with anti-allergy drugs such as Benadryl or Vistaril because the drowsiness that sometimes accompanies antihistamine use may be compounded).
