So long as you run from depression, it will find you, so long as you fight, it shall win. For it is a mirror, the smoothest, most perfect ever made. When you embrace it, when you admit it is your lover and you are its, then you will find some measure of freedom. It's not an illness, I'm convinced, nor any defect. It is a power, a sight, a sense, deeper than any we know, one that gives us access (nay, compels us) to The Other Land. To the world where shadows are real and solid things are ghosts. We do not choose to be depressed, but it chooses us, for reasons we do not understand. There's something jealous in this Other Land. It likes to be populated.
