Science Fiction (of sorts). 47,000 Words. This is a humorous story that was pure fun to write. The novel takes a humorous and satiric glance at political correctness and some of its ramifications. Four people of each sex are exiled to a planet in consequence of various crimes, real and imagined. Here they are ejected from an aircraft singly. Each of them is assigned to his or her own cave, and spaced at two-hundred mile intervals. Kendall is the supposed hero and definitely the protagonist. He finds various tribes of semi-intelligent cat-like monkeys infesting his territory. After saving one of the animals with rough surgery, he is inducted into a clan with all the rights thereto. From this point, with the willing aid of the "Sapients" (Saps), they proceed to sow their own seeds of mayhem. The story develops naturally. The humans are reunited, not all at once, and the Saps are shoved into the "Iron Age". In the course of this shoving, the environment suffers various indignities, the bad guys are stymied and an armed peace reigns. |
